Practice Manager, Energy & Extractives, World Bank
Christopher Sheldon is Practice Manager in the World Bank’s Energy and Extractives Global Practice. His goal is to support countries to develop and manage responsible oil, gas and mining industries that contribute to inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction.
Christopher Sheldon, an Australian national, joined the Bank from the mining industry back in 1999 where he had worked in Papua New Guinea and Philippines for an international mining company. Since joining the Bank as a Mining Specialist Christopher worked across the globe on a variety of lending and advisory projects with a focus on improving the benefits of mining for countries and communities, on environment and on good governance. He became Extractives Practice Manager in 2012.
