Ms. Ferretti joined the Inter-American Development Bank in 2003 after she completed her term as executive director of the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC).
During the 10 years she worked at the CEC, she carried out initiatives related to trade and environment, biodiversity conservation, health and environment, enforcement of environmental law, public access to environmental information and capacity building. She also oversaw independent fact-findings in response to public complaints related to non-enforcement of environmental laws.
Before joining the CEC, Ms. Ferretti was executive director of Pollution Probe, a Canadian NGO, where she worked with the Environmental Liaison Centre International in Nairobi, Kenya and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature in Bonn, Germany.
Ms. Ferretti holds an Master of Environmental Studies in Environmental Policy from York University, Toronto, and a Bachelor in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
