Assistant Deputy Minister, Minerals and Metals Sector, Natural Resources Canada
Marian Campbell Jarvis was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister, Minerals and Metals Sector, Natural Resources Canada in June, 2013. In this role she is responsible for leading economic and market analysis on minerals and metals, regulating explosives, as well as research and science and technology innovation in mining, explosives and materials.
Previously, she held the post of Director General in the Earth Sciences Sector, where she was responsible for the Polar Continental Shelf Program and the Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Program, as well as a number of international files and policy issues. Prior to this, Marian developed strategic policy at Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, Health Canada and the Privy Council Office. Marian has an undergraduate degree in Canadian Studies and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
