This project supports the development and delivery of courses that increase technical skills related to greener and sustainable mining practices in the local small-scale gold mining labour force in Guyana. The project will assess the feasibility for regional collaboration in the field of environmentally responsible practices in the extractive industries. It will also develop a training model to promote workforce and skills development. This transfer of knowledge and training increases environmental accountability, efficiency and productivity, and ultimately contributes to poverty reduction.
