Capacity-building for multi-level governance of ASM in Indonesia
This project supports the development of deeper knowledge and increased institutional capacity at district, provincial and national levels in Indonesia. The project will strengthen awareness of the environmental and social dimensions of gold mining in the Central Kalimantan districts of Katingan, Kapuas and Gunung Mas. It will develop strategies for collaborative implementation of the Minamata Convention on Mercury, and to implement and evaluate capacity-building efforts led by Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta (YTS). These efforts support the Indonesian National Action Plan for the Minamata Convention and promote community-based development and risk mitigation in gold mining areas.
