Produced in partnership with the UBC School of Public Policy, this symposium will examine the impact of research on international development. This event is an opportunity for students and faculty to present their research and participate in discussions on how knowledge generated by academic research translates into an actionable change in the field of international development.
The program will feature an opening address by Moura Quayle, director of the School of Public Policy and CIRDI Advisor Board chair, and a keynote presentation by Margaret Catley-Carlson, former president of CIDA and CIRDI Advisory Board member. Participants will also have an opportunity to take part in a panel discussion and a breakout session, focused on analyzing the challenges and opportunities of operationalizing research in three key areas of international development: peace and security, gender and inclusive governance.
