Indigenous Relations and the Extractives Industry | HIGH GRADE Talks with Lana Eagle

High Grade Media is the globally acclaimed interview series on the extractives industry and natural resources management. Represented by Åsa Borssén, High Grade came to our Leading Practices workshop to interview some of the CIRDI seasoned experts and opinion leaders working in the extractives sector.

Lana Eagle is one of Canada’s most respected Aboriginal relations strategists, well-known in the mineral exploration sector for her depth of knowledge regarding aboriginal engagement, for helping companies to build relationships with Aboriginal communities. Her background is in banking, economic development, wealth management and mineral exploration. Lana was a “pioneer” for Aboriginal women in being one of the first to chair a publicly traded junior mineral exploration company.

The extractives have more interactions with Indigenous Communities than most other industries in Canada. Industry expert and PDAC award-winner Lana Eagle tells us what Indigenous Relations done right looks like.
